A FIVE PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE ON TWO HANDED SILVER PLATED TRAY, the service maker's mark of Frank M. Whiting Co., HAND CHASED, Dutchess pattern, comprising teapot, coffee pot, two handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl, each pear shaped, underside of the shaped circular foliate applied base engraved with initials, front and back chased and engraved with ovoid panel of partly matted foliate scrolls and flowers with vacant center, divided by stylized acanthus and flower straps, with floral shoulder, with partly matted foliate wrapped scroll handle, the everted wavy collar with applied foliate scroll rim, the pots with acanthus clad spout, the hinged molded domed cover with conforming decoration and topped by stylized bud finial-- the coffee pot 10¼in. (26cm.) high , the oval footed tray engraved with arabesque band, with applied openwork bold grapevine rim-- length over handles 29in. (73.6cm.), the silver gross weight 140oz. (6)
