A Flemish verdure tapestry, early 18th century, with two hunters and hounds in a verdant woodland setting, within a floral border woven with roses and other flowerheads, approximately 215cm high, 405cm wide Condition Report: The tapestry bears the usual minor marks, nicks and wear overall consistent with age. Some greens are well-preserved though there is some fading to the colours of the sky, flowers and skin tones. The vertical borders aren't perfectly matched and have likely been altered in places. Areas of stitch repair overall (which are most pronounced to the hilly/sky background) plus some likely reweaving particularly to tree trunks and to a lesser extent the figures (including to legs). Selvedges later. Condition Report Disclaimer
