A French Alabaster Mantel Clock second half 19th century depicting a seated maiden watching as a man shrouds the sun, encasing a circular enamel dial with Roman numeral hours, raised on a rectangular base carved to depict a chariot scene flanked by fluted pilasters, raised on flattened ball feet. Height 22 1/4 inches. Estimate $ 3,000-5,000 Not the clock is NOT marble; it is alabaster. Minor repair to the front corner of the base; hairline cracks or repairs to the lady's legs and feet.
