A FRENCH ORMOLU AND SEVRES STYLE JEWELLED COBALT-BLUE-GROUND PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCK OF LOUIS XVI STYLE, LATE 19TH CENTURY CASE: surmounted by a putto representing Bacchus, the urn-shaped case decorated with scrolling foliage and enamel on a waisted socle, flanked by two mermaids supporting scrolled handles with gargoyles and floral swags, on a shaped base with plaques depicting putti and floral trails on toupie feet, on a purple velvet-lined plinth DIAL: the painted enamel dial signed 'LISTER & SONS NEWCASTLE' with gilt spade hands MOVEMENT: twin barrels with rack striking, stamped to the reverse 'LISTER & SONS NEWCASTLE 3151511-7' and 'JBD', with pendulum 22 in.
