A FÜRSTENBERG COPPER-GILT-MOUNTED DOUBLE-COMPARTMENT SNUFF-BOX CIRCA 1760 Of rectangular section and waisted form with domed covers, the facets each painted in puce camaïeu with small landscape vignettes, some with figures including a girl milking a goat and lovers, within rococo scroll-moulded cartouches, the upper cover with a landscape vignette in coloured enamels, the interior of the same cover painted in colours with two figures at discussion by a tree before a distant town, the other cover in puce camaïeu with a seated lady, the reeded mounts with double-scroll thumbpieces (slight cracks from rim of each chamber, slither of over-painting around edge of interior of one cover, mounts re-attached with some associated slight over-painting) 3 5/8 in. (9.3 cm.) long overall
