18th/19th century The form taken from a typical early bronze jar with broad central section, widely flaring rim and spreading foot, all under a lustrous even greyish glaze of Geyao-type extensively covered in a primary dark brown and secondary pale brown distinctive crackle induced by cooling and staining the glaze deliberately in the Song Dynasty taste. 22cm (8½in) high.
