The design behind the Astrolabium 2000 model is directly inspired from the astrolabe, a historical astronomy instrument that was used for determining the time by means of the position of the sun, moon and stars. Designed with a mind-boggling astronomical dial, the watch features several overlapping and rotatable rings indicating equinoctial time, local time, position of the months, zodiac signs, elevation and azimuth of the sun and moon, the diurnal and nocturnal hours, the moon phases and the aspect of the sun and moon in relation to each other.
