A George II walnut and crossbanded kneehole desk, circa 1735, 76.5cm high, 81cm wide, 48.5cm deep Condition Report: Mark, scratches and abrasions, old chips and splits. Some old repairs including to rear corners of the top The handles appear original. There are no alternate holes for handles. The locks are later replacements. Lacking keys. Some locks have later timber fillets adjacent to them to fill gaps. Oak drawer linings, there are some old stains as expected to the drawer linings and minor division between boards as expected. No noticeable worm damage. Some may be present to a minor extent. The rear panels have been stained/ painted at a later date. The panels appear to have significant age but it is difficult to conclude if they are certainly original. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
