FROM 1796 ONWARDS), LONDON, 1801 rectangular box with canted corners, the sides and base with panels of peak-pattern engine-turning, the base centred with an oval sablé cartouche chased with musical trophies, the cover inset with a miniature painted on glass, depicting a family seated before an open fire listening to a musician play, with an interior inscription 3¾ in. (95 mm.) wide The interior inscription reads, 'THIS BOX / with a Transparency executed by Mr. Alex. R Carse, / presented by SIR JAMES HALL BAR. T to Mr. BROADWOOD. / October 1801'
