A GEORGE III SATINWOOD, MAHOGANY AND AMARANTH MARQUETRY DEMI-LUNE COMMODE CIRCA 1775, THE MAJORITY OF THE MARQUETRY ADDED The crossbanded top with a sunflower paterae surrounded by a foliate and beribboned border, above a pair of quarter-veneered panelled doors with ribbon-tied husk garlands above a two-handled urn in an oval, enclosing a two adjustable later mahogany shelves, the conforming sides with musical trophies in an oval, on square tapering legs, the reverse marked '55128_53' and marked in white chalk '29/MJ', the husk inlay on the uprights and legs original, the remainder of the marquetry added, probably in the late 19th/early 20th century 36 in. (91.5 cm.) high; 39¼ in. (100 cm.) wide; 19¼ in. (49 cm.) deep
