A George IV Silver Six-Piece Tea and Coffee Service John Edward Terrey & Co., London, 1821-27 comprising a hot water kettle, coffee pot on stand, teapot, creamer, sugar and waste bowl; the kettle having a domed cover with a floral finial, the double swan neck handles capped with plumage and the fletching banded rim above the repousse decorated body worked with floral, C-scroll and hunting quarry motifs and further engraved with a coat-of-arms within a cartouche formed of C-scrolls, raised on stylized dolphin form feet atop a stepped square base terminating in hairy paw and flattened ball feet, the other items similarly decorated, the coffee pot, teapot and creamer with figural spouts in the form of Triton, together with an associated silver-plate tray. each fully marked 329 ozt 15 dwts gross Height of hot water kettle 17 inches. Estimate $ 10,000-15,000 Property of a Gentleman, Hopkins, Minnesota Service in overall good, stable, usable condition. Light to moderate surface scratching throughout consistent with polishing and use. Water kettle with two drilled holes in lid, rose finial hallmark for John Edward Terry & Co., but lacking posts to fit into lid holes. Two screws on underside replaced, not sterling. Small linear indent to body near base. Teapot finial also hallmarked "John Edward Terry", but lacking stabilizing post to fit into hole in lid. Coffee pot handle with some age splits, still appears stable though. Creamer with an indent to body of the bird quarry motif. Covered sugar with likely repair to dolphin fins, visible on underside.
