A German ormolu-mounted, walnut, figured walnut and brass inlaid writing desk C. & A. REINHOLDT, COURT CABINET MAKERS TO THE DUKES OF MECKELENBURG AND SCHWERIN IN SCHWERIN, CIRCA 1855 Inlaid overall with engraved foliate brass panels within geometric banding the moulded rectangular top with pierced three-quarter gallery surround, inlaid with six quarter-veneered panels above five panelled frieze drawers and a central knee-hole, flanked to each side by three drawers and a panelled door, enclosing three further drawers, the sides with a pair of conformingly inlaid simulated drawers and doors, the back with five frieze drawers above five panelled doors, divided by rectangular pilasters, on fourteen bun feet, the locks inscribed Gebr. Reinholdt, Hoftischlermstr. Schwerin i. M. , each drawer with inventory number 56 89 cm. high x 266 cm. wide x 89 cm. deep
