A GERMAN SILVER CENTERPIECE WITH CUT GLASS LINER ON SILVER MOUNTED MIRROR PLATEAU, maker's mark of Gebr. Friedlander, late 19th century, the open based molded oval centerpiece on four fully modeled turtle form supports, two sides applied with monogrammed cartouche enclosed by berried laurel and flanked by, chased band of lily pad, cattail spray and flat chased scalework, the ends each formed as fully modelled lyre playing mermaid with bifurcated tail-- length over mermaids 21¼in. (53.9cm.) , the oval plateau on four stylized dolphin mask supports, the slightly waisted sides chased also with waterlillies and cattails on conforming ground and applied with blossom at intervals, the base inset with wood-- 20¾in. (52.7cm.) long, the centerpiece 73oz. (3)
