A German silver metal, ivory, cut glass and semi-precious stone-mounted tortoiseshell-veneered and ebonised table cabinet Second half 19th Century Of architectural form, the upper section with domed top surmounted by a canopy with flaming urn finial, above a central figure of a man astride a bull, flanked to each side by an angel and further flaming urn finial, centred by a foliate-pierced clock dial with Roman numerals and gilt hands, flanked to each side by a pair of twisted columns with ivory niche figure between, on one side the Madonna and child, on the other Christ, the base centred by an angel playing a musical instrument and mounted to one side with a woman and falcon and to the other with a man seated on a lion, the lower section with a pair of doors centred by an oval tortoiseshell panel below a female mask and flanked to each side by a pair of fluted columns with Corinthian capital, opening to reveal six drawers, each with grotesque mask handle, on stepped shaped base and toupie feet, the back incised with foliage and flowers 20¾in. (52.6cm.) wide; 28 5/8in. (72.6cm.) high; 10in. (25.5cm.) deep
