A GERMAN SIX PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE ON AN ITALIAN SILVER TWO HANDLED TRAY, the service, late 19th century, comprising: tea kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, coffee pot, two handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and tea strainer on stand, each spreading rectangular with incurved corners on four scroll feet with floral scroll apron between, the sides flat chased with lush scrolling foliage and flower heads above stiffleaf band on matted ground, the shoulder chased with ribbon hung floral festoons, the pots with panelled spout and foliate loop handles, the hinged low domed cover with quatrefoil of further floral festoons centering paterae, issuing bud finial, the tea kettle with swing part wood overhead handle, the rectangular stand raised on four foliate scroll feet, the scroll supports hung with paired floral festoons, together with a pair of unmarked sugar tongs of similar design-- tea kettle on stand over swing handle 14in. (35.5cm.) high , the conformingly decorated oblong tray with incurved corners and shaped rectangular handles-- length over handles 29¼in. (74.2cm.), gross weight 221oz. (8)
