A GILT-METAL AND CHAMPLEVÉ-ENAMEL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN VASE AND COVER, the cream ground painted by Collot in a muted palette with a maiden reclining on a garland of flowers suspended from the branches of a tree, accompanied by a cherub cymbalist, the scene surmounted by a cartouche of Cupid and with a lovers' trophy below, the reverse with trees in a secluded landscape, each scene outlined with gilt scrolls enriched in lustrous enamels, the turquoise-ground cover, tall trumpet neck and stem with lappets and strapwork in champlevé enamels, mounted with a pineapple finial, a band of leaves at the rim, two leaf handles, bands of gadroons and leaves encircling the lower body and on a circular beaded foot cast with leaves, artist's signature, circa 1880 49in. (124.5cm.) high
