A good late 18th-Century English 12-inch celestial table globe, WRIGHT'S New Improv'd CELESTIAL GLOBE On which the Stars, are correctly laid down, from the Observations of D r HALLEY, D r BRADLEY &c Made & Sold by W m Bardin, N o 4, Hind Court, Fleet Street, LONDON , further around the southern ecliptic polar circle Publish'd according to Act of Parliament by G. Wright & W m Bardin, Jan y 1 s t 1782 , made up of two sets of twelve hand-coloured engraved half gores laid to the ecliptic poles, the axis through the celestial poles, with graduated equinoctial and solstitial colures, equatorial and ecliptic, the latter with twlight zone, the pictorial constellations with stars to seven orders of magnitude ( somewhat dirty throughout with a few scratches and light cracking to the poles ), the poles each with an hour dial and brass pointer, with stamped brass meridian circle and hand-coloured engraved paper horizon ring with degrees of amplitude and azimuth, compass directions and days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, raised on four curved mahogany supports to a turned central pillar with three inswept legs -- 61cm.
