A GROUP OF BYZANTINE BRONZE CROSSES CIRCA 7TH-12TH CENTURY A.D. Including one half of a reliquary cross, with the orant figure of St. George, his name inscribed above, 2¼ in. (5.6 cm.) high; the upper half of a reliquary cross decorated in relief with the Baptism of Christ, the Nativity and two Church Fathers standing to the left, 10th-12th Century A.D.; a pendant cross decorated with dotted circles, a circular recess for inlay in the middle (now missing), circa 7th-8th Century A.D., both 3 in. (7.5 cm.) high; a bronze fragmentary attachment decorated on one side with a standing figure and the hindquarters of an animal, the other side with a similar animal with curling tail and pointed ears, pierced zigzag edge at top, with remains of a row of keyhole-shaped piercings, circa 10th-12th Century A.D., 2 in. (5 cm.) high max.; and a later bronze cross, 3 in. (7.7 cm.) high (5)
