A group of three George III bank tokens. Consisting of a silver George III Bank of England Issue Five Shillings Dollar with the obverse depicting a laureate and draped bust, top leaf to the upright of E and reading: GEORGIUS III DEI GRATTIA REX and the reverse depicting Britannia seated within a crowned garter with the date 1804 beneath and reading: FIVE SHILLINGS DOLLAR BANK OF ENGLAND together with a silver George III three shillings bank token and a George III one shilling and six pence bank token. 1.6 in (4.1 cm) diameter, 1.3 in (3.4 cm) diameter, 1.1 in (2.7 cm) diameter. (3 items) Provenance: This lot came from The Ronald Goode collection at the Pumphouse Educational Museum in Rotherhithe. The Museum housed a fascinating private collection of artifacts discovered on the Thames foreshore in Rotherhithe along with an interesting collection of Peak Freans biscuit factory items which once existed locally in the area. The later collection also included a magnificent six foot iced replica of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding cake with a letter of thanks from Elizabeth II which was on permanent exhibit at The Pumphouse Museum.
