Konoike, Yokohama, Meiji Period the kettle stand worked to show repousse chrysanthemum decoration set on three writhing dragon supports, the base with similarly decorated floral motifs, the burner with a spot-hammered finish and a dragon form snuffer cap. marked on underside of burner 23 ozt 8 dwts Height 5 1/2 inches. Estimate $ 500-700 Property from the Estate of G. Marie Agnew-Marcelli, Albany, New York NOTE: Item is only the lower stand and burner element, water kettle/tea pot not present. Light to moderate surface scratching throughout consistent with polishing and use. Stands lower band bent slightly out of round. Snuffer cap with indents at top. One dragon claw detached from upper band. Two dragons with soldered seams midway along body suggesting possible repair. Additional images available upon request.
