A lacquer writing table ( bundai ) Meiji period (late 19th century), with signature Koami Sosei and cursive monogram ( kao ) Designed on the writing surface with shikishi poem card-style panels of scenery of famous places, flowers and water in gold, silver and colored lacquer hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi, kirikane and okibirame , and mounted with silver corners and side mounts cast with scrolling foliage, the underside nashiji 25 x 14¼ x 5in. (63.5 x 36.2 x 12.7cm.)
