A LARGE CARVED YAOZHOU CELADON BOWL NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (AD 960-1127) The bowl, with deep, conical sides that flare to an up-curved rim, is well carved on the interior with a peony blossom surrounded by six leaves below a line border, and on the exterior with a broad band of simplified petals rising to a line border, all under a glaze of dark olive-green color that ends in a line at the unglazed foot. 9 5/8 in. (24.5 cm.) diam.
