A large Chinese archaistic ceremonial jade or stone blade, with a long upper edge along its length and two sides spread outwards, the cutting edge gracefully curved and beveled on both sides, with three holes drilled along the upper edge, the smoothly polished stone of mottled white, grey and olive-brown colour, 21.5cm long x 8.5cm high x 4mm deep Provenance: Purchased by the current vendors late father in the 1960's from the George Family. By repute it was collected by the British officer Robin George during the Boxer rebellion, and thence by descent through his family.
