A large collection of Scottish charters and documents, in Early Scots and Latin, on vellum and paper 65 items, including: (a) charter between Abbot Alexander of Scone and Lady Katherine Paxton, in Early Scots throughout, on vellum, dated 21 August 1402, and recording a land exchange of the estates of Cragtoun with Kynnochtri and Fothernes, 270mm. by 145mm., 21 lines of black ink in a clear secretarial hand, with large and clear suspended wax seal with a coat-of-arms (most probably that of Katherine Paxton), slight stains in small patches and folds, else outstanding condition; (b) grant from Robert Logy, burgess of Perth to Andrew Chartrs of lands in Perth, on vellum, in Latin, dated 4 June 1462, 260mm. by 170mm., lacking seals but seal tags (recovered from another earlier Latin document) still intact, some minor spotting, folds and small original hole in vellum, else in fine and presentable condition; (c) charter from Alexander Seres, burgess of Perth to John Mirtone, canon of Dunkeld, of an annual rent of 20 shillings from Perth estates, in Latin, on vellum, dated 18 March 1464, 290mm. by 150mm., with two large and clear suspended wax seals (seal tags again cut from older documents) with the armorial devices of Robert Balre, Bailie of Perth, and Alexander Seres, some folds, else in outstanding condition; (d) a Gordon clan charter of John Gordon of Farnborrow concerning a number of estates including Balnaboth, Angus, in Latin and Early Scots (with an endorsement: 'John Gordon off Farynborrow by my hand ++'), on vellum, with a large wax seal with the Gordon arms of 3 boar's heads (perhaps once detached and now skillfully restored), ink of main document somewhat faded, else in good condition; plus another 61 documents and rolls of Scottish origin: 2 of the fifteenth century, 16 of the sixteenth century and 59 of the seventeenth century (full list available below)
