MAINLY EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C. AND LATER
A LARGE GROUP OF BRONZE FIBULAE, BLADES AND PINS MAINLY EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C. AND LATER Including a Greek bow fibula with swollen mouldings and dividing ridges on the arched bow, with coiled spring and extended catch-plate, 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) long; a large Phrygian bow brooch with cube, disc and tori mouldings at either end of the arched bow, with grooved catch-plate, 3 1/8 in. (8 cm.) long; three others smaller, of similar type, one in silver with modern pin, 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) long; and two others, Persian, of 'arm-and-hand' type with triangular bow, pins missing, 2 in. (5 cm.) long max.; a leech-shaped fibula, pin missing, 2¾ in. (7 cm.) long; a bronze dress pin with pierced terminal in the form of three conjoined bird heads above disc and tori mouldings; another with a horse; two with rosette terminals, 3½ in. (9 cm.) long max.; thirteen other pins with various domed, biconical or spherical heads, 7 in. (17.8 cm.) long max.; six arrow and spearheads, 7 in. (17.9 cm.) high max.; ten bronze cruciform bossed studs, ¾ in. (1.7 cm.) sq.; and an iron sword blade with tang, within a fragmentary iron scabbard, 20½ in. (52 cm.) long(a lot)
