A LARGE NAPOLEON III ORMOLU THREE-PIECE CANDELABRA-SURTOUT-DE-TABLE MID-19TH CENTURY Comprising a large centrepiece-candelabrum and pair of smaller side candelabra: the centrepiece with serpentine cartouche base on out-swept feet, set to each side with a pastoral figure seated in a rocaille scroll and to the corners with a rotating scroll-branch three-light candelabrum, centred by a naturalistic mound with spilling vine and pomegranate finial, surmounted by four 'S'-scroll uprights each issuing a further three-light candelabrum and supporting a rhombus-shaped lidded dish with artichoke finial, the two smaller candelabra en suite ; the underside of the centrepiece stamped numerously BY , one side candelabrum stamped numerously C , the other S The centrepiece: 20½ in.
