A LARGE SILK EMBROIDERED HANGING SCROLL OF BUDDHA SAKYAMUNI QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-95) Shown seated in padmasana and with hands in vitarka mudra , wearing robes detailed with cloud scrolls, draped over the shoulders in such a way as to expose the chest which is centred by a necklace, the face with a serene expression before a radiating halo behind, seated on lotus atop an elaborate throne, all below a headdress with the eight hanging Buddhist emblems, the details to the robes and headdress finely picked out in silver and gold couching, on a cream coloured ground 66½ x 37 in. (168.8 x 94 cm.), mounted with fine silk embroidered borders
