A Large Well-Carved Longquan Celadon Bracket-Lobed Dish Early Ming dynasty, late 14th-early 15th century Heavily potted, the interior carved with a fruiting crab apple tree encircled by a narrow double-line border below various flower sprigs in the petal-carved well, with detached foliate sprays on the everted rim below the raised, bracket-lobed edge, the exterior also carved with vertically arranged flower sprigs below a band of foliate scroll on the underside of the rim, all under a glaze of rich tone, an unglazed ring on the base burnt red in the firing 18 3/4in.
