A late 19th-Century lacquered and oxidised-brass surveyor's circumferentor, unsigned, the finely divided circle with two fixed sights, the frame with universal bubble level and position for a compass with bubble level, the alidade with two sights and twin vernier scales, raised on a ball-and-socket staff and pillar mounting -- 7½in. (19cm.) high ; and a 19th-Century oxidised-brass surveying theodolite, signed H. Morin. 3, rue Boursault (Ateliers H. Morin & Gensse à Paris) , the telescope with rack and pinion focusing, the eyepiece with four wire turn-screw adjusters, with object glass dust cap, the axis supported on two vertical frames, one with magnifier to read against a vertical circle ( absent ), the horizontal plate incorporating a bubble level and two vernier scales to read against the horizontal circle, the underside with secondary telescope, raised on a pillar or staff mounting with tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp -- 9¼in.
