A LATE VICTORIAN MAHOGANY TEA-CADDY AFTER A DESIGN BY THOMAS CHIPPENDALE LATE 19TH EARLY 20TH CENTURY Of bombé form, the rectangular hinged top with gadrooned edge above a blind gothic-arched frieze, enclosing a part mahogany-lined interior, the underside of the lid lined in emerald green velvet, on foliate-carved spreading feet, the metalwork apparently original, previously with divisions, the key labelled 'Mrs Tillotson, Hillside, Heaton, Bolton' 7½ in. (19 cm.) high; 12¼ in. (31 cm.) wide; 8¼ in. (21 cm.) deep
