A LOUIS XIV ORMOLU-MOUNTED BRASS, EBONY AND PEWTER-INLAID BUREAU MAZARIN ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE GOLE CIRCA 1690 Decorated en contre-partie and à toutes faces with elaborately scrolling foliage, the rectangular top with a central oval medallion with a strapwork pattern, the reserves with scrolling foliage and mounted with a gadrooned border, above a central frieze drawer flanked to each side by two further drawers, each with leaf-tip-cast border, above paired square tapering legs with trailing foliage, headed by moulded collars and joined by X-frame stretchers centered by foliate paterae with leaf-wrapped finial, on toupie feet, the stretchers and marquetry of legs Louis XVI, circa 1775-1780 28¼ in.
