A MAGNIFICENT IMPERIAL WHITE JADE 'DRAGON' VASE AND COVER QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) Exquisitely carved in relief to each side of the flattened vase with a medallion enclosing full-faced dragon coiled around a 'flaming pearl' and encircled by the eight Buddhist emblems, bajixiang amidst lush overlapping tendrils, the waisted neck and side of the domed cover carved on each side with a full lotus bloom flanked by stylised serrated leaves, the design repeated around the sides of the cover which is surmounted by a knop finial, the neck flanked by a pair of mythical beast mask handles suspending loose rings, all supported on a splayed rectangular foot, the foot and neck bordered by keyfret bands, the material is of a highly polished even white tone 11 in. (28 cm.) high
