A MAMLUK SILVER, GOLD AND BLACK COMPOSITION INLAID BRASS EWER PROBABLY EGYPT, PERIOD OF SULTAN AL-MALIK AL-NASIR MUHAMMAD IBN QALAWUN, 1293-4, 1299-1309 AND 1310-1341 The brass body densely inlaid with gold and silver, four bands of calligraphy around the neck and body, surrounded and alternating with floral and geometric inlay, missing handle, minor losses 18 ¾ in. (47.5cm.) height Provenance Private collection, England, since 1993, and by repute since the 1960s or early 1970s. From which acquired by the present owner
