Five total; all mention Marilyn; the first a typed carbon copy of a letter, from Milton Greene to screenwriter Carl Foreman, dated "March 17, 1958," it reads in part "...the Monroe situation has / finally been settled as far as I'm concerned...;" the second a typed letter (with its original transmittal envelope), from Foreman to Greene, dated "26th March, 1958," it reads in part "...am very happy that you have finally straightened out or / settled the Monroe situation...;" the third a typed letter on 'The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art' letterhead, from Diana Vreeland to Greene, dated "July 24, 1974," it reads in part "... if we could / borrow from you...(the outfit) / worn by Marilyn Monroe at a Circus Charity Benefit...;" the fourth a pink carbon copy receipt, from The Met to Greene, dated "July 3, 1974," it itemizes the various parts of MM's costume that Greene loaned to the museum; the fifth a typed letter on 'Met' notepaper, from Vreeland to Greene, dated "July 29, 1974," it reads in part "...what a delightful surprise... / to see the costume of / Marilyn... / it is delicious, very gala and just what we / need...;" signed by the diva in green felt-tip ink in the lower right corner -- overall, an interesting little lot where Marilyn Monroe was on everyone's mind.
