Painted in the workshop of Mayer of Pressnitz with Italian Comedy figures, one side with Mezzetin looking over the shoulder of a lady showing a portrait of a man to a lady with a magnifying glass, a peacock between them, the other side with a lady seated offering a snuff-box to Harlequin and another lady smelling a rose, the foot and shoulders applied with stiff leaves, the faceted spout with gilt scrolls, the metal handle wrapped in leather, the flat cover with sprays of roses within a gilt scroll border (handle and finial metal replacements, chips to tip of spout and minor flaking to enamels) 3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) high
