A MEISSEN PORCELAIN GILT-METAL MOUNTED ARMORIAL TEAPOT AND COVER FROM THE FOSCARI SERVICE CIRCA 1735-40, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, GILDER'S MARK OF THREE DOTS TO UNDERSIDE OF COVER AND BASE OF TEAPOT Bullet-shaped with a wishbone handle and faceted richly-gilt spout, the body painted with a continuous estuary scene with figures at various pursuits beside a monument, barrels and boats, one side with the crowned coat of arms enriched in gilding and flanked by winged putti supporters, above a double concentric line support, the cover chained to teapot (small shallow chip to spout, slight flaking to gilding, fastening link of chain defective) 3¾ in. (9.6 cm.) high
