A mid Victorian gold and diamond serpent necklace, circa 1870, the snake's head clasp set with four cushion shaped old brilliant cut diamonds and cabochon garnet eyes above gold foliate scrolling, and holding a similar old cut diamond heart locket in its mouth, approximate total diamond weight 1.00 carats, attached to an interwoven serpentine link back chain, necklace length to clasp 39.5cm, 43cm long overall
