A MODERN BRASS ORRERY CLOCK Unsigned The pierced brass plates with four double-screwed pillars, large great wheel for the wire fusee, deadbeat anchor escapement, the silvered Roman chapter ring with serpentine pierced blued steel hands, rolling ball moonphase below, indirect drive to the heliocentric orrery above with the central sun and with Mercury and Venus its closest satellites, the earth and moon making their periodic revolutions, blued steel pointer to a silvered chapter ring engraved with the year calendar supported on turned balusters; mauve velvet-lined stepped base on ebonised wood plinth, original glass shade; with an excellent description of the planetarium giving full details of each planet, their motions and how to manage the clock 22 in. (56 cm.) high (3)
