ATTRIBUTED TO KOLB, PARIS, MID-19TH CENTURY
A NAPOLEAN III ORMOLU, CUT-BRASS AND MOTHER-OF-PEARL-INLAID EBONY AND EBONISED SECRETAIRE-A-ABATTANT Attributed to Kolb, Paris, Mid-19th century The upper section with shaped pediment inlaid with foliate branches, above a drawer and fall-front panel inlaid to the centre by a figure of Diana within a foliate surround with masks and butterflies, the reverse inset with a gilt-tooled black leather writing-surface, the satinwood interior fitted with a pigeon-hole surrounded by ten drawers, the angles to the front mounted with espagnolettes, the lower section with serpentine shaped top, on cabriole legs and acanthus-cast feet 67 in. (170 cm.) high; 44 in. (112 cm.) wide; 21 in. (54 cm.) deep
