A PAIR OF DUTCH DELFT TILE PICTURE COLUMNS (TEGELPILASTERS) LATE 18TH CENTURY Each of twenty-six tiles, painted in manganese red as a mirror image with a large bird perched in a vertical vine stalk and pecking at the ripe fruit, a spider web above its head, smaller birds among the branches or nibbling the fruit, a keeshond barking below, a pig sniffing for truffles also at the base of the stalk, a vintager with a donkey laden with baskets of grapes walking towards a couple stomping grapes in a wooden vat, fields of vines in the background 66½ x 10¼ in.
