A PAIR OF FAYENCE CHINOISERIE DOUBLE-GOURD-SHAPED VASES, CIRCA 1680-1700, DELFT OR PERHAPS FRANKFURT each with a squat globular lower part below an ovoid section moulded with a central girdle below a baluster neck, painted in the late Ming style with figures in stylised landscapes, the necks reduced46 cm., 18 in. high(2) To view Shipping Calculator, please click hereCondition ReportBoth rims have been reduced, they would originally have had the upper baluster sections with flared rims, approx. 3 in. 7.5 cm. higher than at present. Both have been reduced by the same amount, one example has been left with the rim ground down and some slight associated chipping but is otherwise in good order. The other example has had some re-touching around the rim, the lower compressed globular section has been cracked through at about the mid point horizontally and repaired with signs of old retouching to the break. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
