PROPERTY OF AN IMPORTANT PRIVATE COLLECTORA pair of gilt-bronze mounted Chinese celadon porcelain vasesthe porcelain Qianlong (1736-1795), the mounts Louis XV circa 1770 of gu shape, cylindrical, with a swelling central band, trumpet neck and sides spreading towards the foot, the body incised with peony scrolls, mounted to rim and footrimFor info original dims for lot 14 are 54.5cm. high, 27cm. wide; 1ft. 9½in., 10 5/8in.Condition reportThese impressive mounted celadon vases are in overall good condition. The gilt-bronze mounts are also in excellent condition : the mercury gilding is barely worn and has only very tiny stains. The top rim border to one side of one vase with two tiny holes to the gilt-bronze mount.The Chinese porcelain has been carefully examined under ultraviolet light which reveals a perfect condition, except one hairline crack (10 cm long) on one vase. There are minor firing marks from the time of manufacture, these are not distracting at all.Their size and their good condition make these vases even more exceptional. "
