A PAIR OF KO-KUTANI DISHES EDO PERIOD (LATE 17TH CENTURY) Each shallow decagonal dish painted with a large central medallion of a long-tailed phoenix rendered in enamels of green, yellow and blue with details of iron-red within a wide border of yellow and aubergine foliate scroll, the undersides painted in iron-red and black with scattered pine needles, the short foot encircled by a single and double outer ring, the iron-red fuku mark in the center of the underside in turn encircled by a double ring, rims chocolate brown- 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm.) diameter (2)
