A pair of laminated birch and metal armchairs designed by Robin Day , 1951, for Hille , each back with arm rests shaped from one laminated panel, with padded back and seat on grey-painted tubular steel frame and legs, both labelled Hille of London Cf: Hille 75 Years of British Furniture , Victoria & Albert Museum, 1981, p.78, similar example illustrated. This particular chair was designed by Robin Day in 1951 for seating in the public spaces of the Royal Festival Hall. (2)
