A PAIR OF LATE LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED AMARANTH, TULIPWOOD, SYCAMORE, PARQUETRY AND MARQUETRY PETITS SECRETAIRES CIRCA 1770, RETAILED BY LEONARD BOUDIN AND ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE ROUSSEL Each with a galleried top with a hinged lid decorated with a hunting trophy with a stag head flanked by foliage, horns, hunting weapons and drapery, enclosing a well lined with blue silk, above a tambour shutter decorated with a cartouche depicting a military trophy of a canon surrounded by flags, the sides similarly decorated with musical trophies, the shutter enclosing two drawers with ivory knobs and a pigeon-hole above a slide with hinged blue silk-lined bookstand, the base fitted with a front drawer and a side drawer, on cabriole legs headed by foliate mounts and terminating in upswept foliate sabots, the top originally fitted with a rising screen which is now fixed 38 in. (97 cm.) high; 18¼ in. (47 cm.) wide; 13½ in. (34 cm.) deep (2)
