A PAIR OF LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED PATINATED-BRONZE AND CHINESE TURQUOISE PORCELAIN BRULE-PARFUMS CIRCA 1785 - 1790, THE PORCELAIN QIANLONG (1736 - 1795), ALMOST CERTAINLY SUPPLIED BY THE MARCHAND-MERCIER DOMINIQUE DAGUERRE THE PORCELAIN, WITH ITS PIERCED LIDS, COLLARS AND BASES ADDED CIRCA 1825, PROBABLY ORIGINALLY CONCEIVED AS CANDELABRA Each ovoid porcelain element surmounted by a pineapple finial, with a pierced and flowering scrolled acanthus collar and with guilloche and acanthus foot with leaf-tip edge, on a circular support with pierced acanthus banding, the whole on legs with paw feet, each headed by a mer-caryatid supporting a fruit-filled basket, above a verde antico tripartite base set at each angle with a male mask, on bun feet 35¾ in.
