A PAIR OF MEISSEN CANDLESTICKS CIRCA 1750, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS TO BACK OF BASES Each with two playful putti in gilt-edged white robes, the first with a standing putto holding a large black fish, the turquoise reeds spouting from its mouth issuing a foliate nozzle, a fallen putto at his feet, the other with a putto standing by tall rushes, pulling at the bulrush heads with his hand, a black lobster resting on the foliage, a fallen putto at his feet, each on shaped mound bases applied with coloured flowers and foliage (the first with restored section to nozzle rim, the second with small repair to green leaf on nozzle, lobster's claws and two leaves below, minute chipping to extremities, chipping and slight restoration to flowers and foliage on bases) 10¾ in.
