A pair of Meissen chinoiserie gilt gadrooned teabowls and saucers Circa 1735, blue crossed swords marks and Dreher's star to all pieces Painted in the manner of C.F. Herold , the exterior of the teabowls with a continuous band of chinoiserie figures at various pursuits including playing with birds, with fish, taking tea, with an infant and smoking above moulded gilt gadroons, the interiors each with a panel of puce diaper-pattern and iron-red flowerheads, the saucers with Orientals on terraces with flowering shrubs, one with an Oriental with a pole before a seated figure and a boiling kettle on a table, the other with three Orientals by a gadrooned vase of utensils, within double concentric iron-red circle cartouches, the undersides moulded with gilt gadroons below indianische Blumen and tied sheaves of corn, the saucers and interiors of the teabowls with gilt interlocking scrollwork and flowerhead borders, gilt line rims (one saucer with small rim chip, slight rubbing to all rims) (2)
