A PAIR OF SAXON ENGRAVED AND FACET-CUT FLARED TUMBLERS for the English market, from a set emblematic of the Seasons, Autumn portrayed as a three-quarter length portrait of a young woman holding a basket of fruit beneath lambrequin and tasselled drapery, named on a cartouche below with foliage-scroll terminals surmounted by a bird, the reverse with a vase containing two branches of berried foliage, Winter as a woman holding a muff and wearing a fur-lined cape, within a similar cartouche, the reverse with two birds perched among leafless branches contained in a vase, the lower parts cut with large diamonds beneath arched flutes (Winter cracked through portrait), circa 1765, perhaps Glücksburg 11cm. high (2)
