A PAIR OF SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS with signed brass barrels engraved with foliage at the breech, signed bevelled border engraved locks engraved with a floral spray on each tail (one side-nail missing, each cock a working replacement), figured walnut full stocks (one a working replacement, the other cracked at the butt and chipped at the fore-end) carved with a shell in relief behind each barrel tang, full silver mounts cast and chased with shells and foliage in relief including pierced side-plates, vacant escutcheons, and spurred pommel each with grotesque mask cap, turned silver ramrod-pipes, and one associated silver-tipped ramrod (the other missing), by Joseph Heylin, Cornhill, London, London silver hallmarks for 1764, maker's mark of John King 13 5/8in.
